Centralizing the Strength of Togetherness
IMAGERY BY JONATHAN SINGER
AFFORDABLE SENIOR HOUSING
Fortitude at Delta Towers
Fortitude at Delta Towers drew directly from the
sorority’s symbol, the African Violet, and its meaning:
courage through adversity. Our design concept
celebrated strength at the community’s core. While
developers feared loitering, we insisted on a central
lobby designed for gathering, connection, and support.
Violet-inspired forms shaped the lighting, enveloping
residents as they entered. Pillars throughout displayed
the sorority’s values, literally writing history into the
walls. This was senior housing reframed as heritage
space - where aging could mean belonging,
not isolation.
