Capitol Vista
Deanwood is a historic community based in Washington, DC. xxxxx set a precedent for Black land ownership in Deanwood and became a space for ingenuity as Black Americans settled into the area during the mass exodus of the south.
Deanwood became the birthplace to some of the first Black architects and engineers in the country. The neighborhood was also a place for commerce, scholars, and skill sharing alike as the community became self-sufficient – an embodiment of the American Dream in the face of discrimination.

We seek to shatter the way Deanwood is seen today. Instead, we nourish the regeneration of this neighborhood that was really rich in monetary and education.

To crystallize is to look at the clusters that make up the community. Deanwood was formed by people of stature who were dedicated to being multidimensional and ensuring the community thrived.
